Monte Baltica Corporation Consulting Trade Ltd. Şti. (MBC) was established in Istanbul in 2017 to operate in financial investment consultancy, technology and innovation consultancy and foreign trade.
We aim to increase national and international competitiveness by offering appropriate solutions to our customers with innovative ideas and correct methods. We support the transfer and applications of technologies that will contribute to the national technology move with our value added services.
Our Team
Onur Özsan, Managing Partner
Onur Özsan is a graduate of TED Ankara College and Middle East Technical University (METU) department of Food Engineering and holds an MBA degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS). Onur Özsan started his career in finance in 1994 at Housing Development Administration (TOKI). He held various managerial positions in group companies at OYAK group, which he moved to in 2001. In 2007, he joined the founding team of Istanbul Mortgage Finansman A.Ş., the first mortgage company established in Turkey, as a founding partner and board member. After the majority share of the company was acquired by Şekerbank in 2010, it was renamed as Şeker Finansman A.Ş. Onur Özsan, who served as executive vice president in the company until 2016 continued to serve as the senior advisor to the boar. Onur Özsan, worked as an executive board member and general manager at Vera Venture Portfolio Management Company between 2017 and 2020. Onur wrote several papers on housing finance published in international and national preiodicals. He is currently the managing partner of Monte Baltica Corporation.
Volkan İspir, Senior Partner
Volkan İspir, who is a graduate of TED Ankara College and Middle East Technical University Geological Engineering Department, started his career in 1993 as Sales Coordinator at Çukurova Group. Between 1996-1998, he worked as the Sales Manager at the Istanbul office of Itochu Corporation, worked as a managing partner at Tual International Eood Bulgaria between 1996-2016 in the fields of construction investment, and since 2017 he worked as the overseas sales and marketing director at PBD Europa Eood Bulgaria. continues. He is the senior partner of MBC in charge of foreign trade and commerce.
Hakan Özbakan, Partner
Hakan Özbakan graduated from Yükseliş College and Bülent Ecevit University Business Administration Department. Özbakan, who started working as an accountant in Gama Construction in 1997, received the title of CPA in 2001. Between 2000-2006, he worked at Yeni Ufuklar Kindergarten and Tribeca Ankara as Accounting and Finance Manager. Hakan Özbakan worked as the accounting manager of Gama Energy and the founding partner of Hakanlar Accounting and Financial Consultancy Ltd. Hakan is the senior partner of MBC in charge of administration and reporting.
Mustafa Duman, who graduated from TED Ankara College, received a BA in Business Administration from Hacettepe University and a M.Sc. degree in Finance from University of Wyoming. He started his banking career in Corporate Marketing at Garanti Bank in 1997, and throughout his career engaged in important public offering, privatization and strategic & financial partnership projects in Corporate Finance departments with leading brokerage houses and investment banks. Between 2005 and 2010, he decided to pursue his career in a company as CFO, operating in different sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, retail and aviation. Following his tenure as a CFO, in 2014, he joined the ranks of PASHA Yatırım Bankası A.Ş., the subsidiary of PASHA Holding which is the largest financial services group of Azerbaijan overseeing the establishment and organization of numerous departments during his tenure until February 2021. He is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of Şeffaf Aparey Ortodonti ve Elektronik Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş. Mustafa is an associate of MBC focusing on projects related to Investment Banking Consultancy, IPO's, Financial Management and Venture Capital Investments.
Bülent has over 29 years of financial markets experience. He has most recently managed fixed income and derivative products desk at Ziraat Bank covering $20 billion eurobond portfolio, all swap, gold and structured, ISDA referenced, investment products. He was the treasurer of New York branch managing Fixed Income investment portfolio of over 5 million US dollars. For the last three years he has been working as director of finance & investor relations in a real estate investment company. He has successfully managed the IPO process on İstanbul Stock Exchange (size $250mn).
He has financial risk management & structured finance degrees from New York University. MA in Finance and Investment from University of Exeter (Chevening Scholar). MA in Public Finance with a focus on Public Private Partnerships from Middle East Technical University (also took a position as Research Assistant on faculty). Bachelor’s degree on City planning, also, from Middle East Technical University Faculty of Architecture.
